Prescriptions
To help us provide a faster, safer, and more reliable service, we are asking all patients to stop requesting prescriptions on paper and to use electronic prescription request systems instead.
How to request your prescriptions
Our preferred method is the NHS App, which is free, integrated and easy to use. Download this from your app store or access it online
Requesting prescriptions electronically has many benefits, including:
- Faster processing of your request
- Improved safety, with fewer errors and lost requests
- Better visibility, allowing you to see what has been requested and approved
- Reduced delays, especially at busy times
- More environmentally friendly than paper requests
Paper requests can be misplaced or delayed, and they take longer for our team to process. Moving to electronic requests helps us focus more time on patient care.
What happens next
Please download and start using the NHS App now. Step by step guides and videos are available online
From 1st July 2026, we will only be accepting paper requests from those who are genuinely unable to use digital services.
Thank you for your co-operation and for helping us improve the service we provide to all our patients.
