Research at Whitstable Medical Practice
Making a Difference
Whitstable Medical Practice is proud to be an active research practice, working with the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) to improve healthcare for everyone.
By taking part in research, our patients help develop better treatments, medicines and services — not just for our local community, but for people across the UK and beyond.
Why research matters
The NHS Constitution recognises research as a core function of the NHS. Every treatment you receive today exists because patients like you took part in research in the past.
How patients get involved
You may be approached by one of our team about a study you may be suitable for. You will always have full information before deciding, and your care will never be affected if you choose not to take part. All research carried out here is approved by an NHS Research Ethics Committee.
Research Leads
Dr Marthe Enger-Malasi leads research in the practice and would be pleased to discuss any questions or concerns you may have.
